2017 Year in Review

Friends, family, & supporters,

First off, thank you. Your support during 2017, whether through social media engagement, rocking our clothes, or sharing our brand & story, really does matter. As we continue to evolve, our quest remains the same - to serve as representation of the unique outdoor culture of the Ozark Mountain region. Your support gives us the backing to continue in sharing our home with the nation.

Our Year in Review

This year brought the winds of change to Fayettechill. Between the return of our CEO from 15 months on the road (spent exploring other major outdoor regions across North America - keep an eye out for the full release of his story on our blog!) to gaining a new lead graphic designer, to continued changes in our sustainability-musts, it's been one for the books. 

Goods for the Woods

You'll see a lot more of this slogan as we round the corner into 2018. "Goods for the Woods," in short, wraps up our underlying ethos when designing & producing our clothes. Simply put, we strive to to make goods for the woods, that are good for the woods. 

We're excited to continue the evolution of our sustainability initiatives in 2018. Look forward to hemp-blend tees, the use of organic & non-virgin cotton in more products than ever before, continued exploration of recycled polyester outerwear, and pre-ordering options to reduce over production.

Outstanding Non Profits

We're proud to continue in supporting 6 outdoor-centric non profits in our region. Here's a round up of some of their 2017 achievements + how you can get involved.
 
BUFFALO RIVER WATERSHED ALLIANCE
Together, we were able to raise an astounding $9,335 in support of the BRWA in 2017. Big thanks to everyone who contributed via a tee purchase or fundraiser attendance! We sold a total of 543 fundraiser tees (for a $5,430 donation) & raised $3,905 at our fundraising event at our Headquarters. Interested in continued involvement?

OZARK OFF-ROAD CYCLISTS

Local non profit, the OORC, celebrated their 20th year in trail advocacy & preservation of natural environments this year. We applaud their hard work & the positive impact their efforts have made on our region! This year alone the OORC fostered thousands of hours of volunteer trail building and community trail maintenance across the Arkansas Ozarks including new trail construction in Eureka Springs, Fayetteville, Siloam Springs, Greenwood, and Russellville. To get further involved you may become an OORC member, volunteer, or attend their upcoming (and always epic) Buffalo Headwaters Challenge.

THE NATURE CONSERVANCY OF ARKANSAS
This year we were able to raise $450 for the preservation of Council Rock with our Earth Day fundraiser tee. Thanks to all that contributed! To get involved locally with TNC, visit their Arkansas chapter here.

KESSLER MOUNTAIN DEVELOPMENT
Our beloved Kessler Mountain in Fayetteville, AR got an extra dose of love this year. Four additional miles of hand-cut trail were added to the mountain, thanks to the efforts of Progressive Trail Design. The original seven miles of trail were also given a spruce-up thanks to local non-profit, OORC. Ride new Kessler Trails >>

We're bringing back winter film nights to our Basecamp retail store for the second season in a row! Save the dates to experience three different sustainability-centered films with the community:

Yoga Adventure Series

Back for our sixth season in a row, look forward to some upgrades, including new AR-destinations for enjoying the sunrises! Save the date, the 2018 season kicks off Friday April 6, 2018.

Fayetteville Yoga Festival at Mt. Sequoyah

Fayettechill is a proud sponsor of the first ever Fayetteville Yoga Festival! Taking place May 4-6, 2018 on the beautiful grounds of Fayetteville's Mt. Seqyoyah, we will be sponsoring the event's nature teepee as a mecca for participants to retreat for hiking, meditation, reflection, & reconnection with nature.
